Island Post Trim with Bottom Dressing by Nantucket
DETAILS:
***Please read before ordering!!***
You want to measure your post before ordering! Put a tape measure up to the post and the actual size of your post will be the size you will order. A lot of 4x4 posts actually measure 3-1/2". And a 6x6 most commonly measures 5-1/2" actual width. However, there are 6x6's that measure a true 6" width and that measure an actual 5-3/4". So it is important to order the actual post size. We add 1/8" to that size and that will be the actual opening of the skirt. So if you order a 4" size, the actual opening will be 4-1/8" to guarantee a fit on an actual 4" post. Please send any questions before ordering.

About this product…
Post trims are pieces of material that wrap around the bottom of your beams or posts in order to bridge the gap between your columns and your decking. Post trims can offer more cohesion or an aesthetically pleasing transition from the materials of your columns to the materials of your decking. The cedar products are made from Vermont-grown redwood cedar by artisans with many years of experience in their trade, offering a unique and high-quality option. For an extra layer of protection, or for aesthetic customization, you may opt to coat the post trim in a stain or paint.
Cedar is a fantastic material to use for a deck post trim, as cedar wood is naturally resistant to mildew and mold. The low density of cedar wood also means that it is less likely than other woods to warp, swell, twist, or cup in any way. These factors are especially important when working on outdoor projects, where the post trim will be continually exposed to the elements.
These are easily installable, only needing construction adhesive to bring the look together; one quick home improvement trick that will transform your whole space. The base trim is constructed as a two-piece unit, and is available in both square and rectangular models and a variety of sizes, which makes it easy to add to existing posts. To install, wrap the open trim around the bottom of the post, then apply any exterior-grade construction adhesive to the open end and glue the trim together. Within minutes, you now have a natural looking trim fit for your beautifully finished deck. Plus, you’ll save yourself stress over service and maintenance of your Nantucket trims with our lifetime limited warranty.
Azek is a man made cellular pvc that mimics wood. These will last!
Cedar or Azek Post Trim Installation Instructions:
The base post trim comes pre-assembled, with three sides joined together and a separate fourth side. To install, follow these two easy steps:
-
Apply an exterior-grade construction adhesive to the inside of the three-sided section and slide it firmly around the post
