About this product…
Post Covers are used to cover existing posts that you may have on your deck, in your yard, or around your home. If you’re looking to update a space or make your home feel more in line with your desired aesthetics, post covers are a cost-effective and easeful solution, not requiring you to remove previously installed posts.
Along with being cost and time effective, these Country Ledgestone Post Covers by Nextstone offer an entrance into an upscale, durable, and earthy outdoor model. These statement pieces give your home a big personality, and are surely elevating. If you’re seeking an upgrade using stone on your decking without having to employ a mason, these pieces offer you the aesthetics and materials that you’re looking for without the long-term commitment of concrete. Striking, bold, and cast from actual stone and rock formations, these covers have the look and feel of true masonry. Created with a proprietary in-mold coating to prevent fading, then hand painted with an exterior durable paint, these covers can withstand all kinds of weather, including humidity, rain, snow, and extreme heat.
This two-piece cover can connect around posts, making installation possible if unable to slip over the top. These stone post covers coordinate perfectly with vinyl, composite, and wood materials, whether for deck rails, wood deck columns, or fence posts. Weighing about 1 lb. per square foot, these lightweight panels make installation easily manageable, removing the need to pay for additional materials, equipment or labor.
Simply apply the post covers to any unsightly, weathered, or worn down posts, and you’ll notice an instant sense of accomplishment in making your home look welcoming and refreshed. They may also be used to enhance indoor areas such as load bearing basement columns.

INSTALLATION:
Step 1
Post covers are 47” tall. Measure up 47” on the post. Cut the post to this height. (Fig. 1)

Step 2
If using a 4×4 post, fir out the post to 6” x 6”. If attaching railings, decide where the railings will attach on the post cover and make any openings necessary to the post cover . Alternately a tool such as an oscillating saw can be used making the openings after the post cover is in place. Consult local codes for height requirements of rails.
Step 3
Make SURE the post is plumb. (Fig. 2) Position Side 1, with the arrow facing up. (Fig. 3) Seat the bottom of the cover onto the bottom of the post. Face screw the post cover into the wood post using 3″ galvanized screws. Screw through the post in a grout line or at the base of a rock (Fig. 4). This will make it easier to hide the screws. Measure up approximately 16″ and 32″ and screw through into the post . The post covers are designed with a grout line at these heights.
Step 4
Shim the top of the post cover to make the post plumb if necessary (Fig5). Screw through the face into the post.

Step 5
After securing side 1 in place, move side 2 into place. Make sure the arrow is facing up. Dry fit the piece to make sure all “T” joints line up and are tight. (Fig. 6) Secure side 2 at the ring heights described above.
Step 6
When there is a larger gap at the joint, screw through the cover at the “T” joint, applying pressure to both sides, closing the gap. (Fig. 7 and 8)
Step 7
Attaching the Post Cap. Apply adhesive around the top surface of the post. In addition, apply adhesive to the inside top of the cap along the inside ledge. ( Fig. 9)

Step 8
Finish the job using NextStone Textured Grout and Paint kit to cover any gaps between the 2 post cover pieces, space around the mountings and to hide screw heads . (Grout and Touch Up Kit sold separately).
